Project:

“Dare to Dream” Gala Show

Audience:

800 international attendees at the Anaheim Convention Center

Concept:

Tying to our client’s Convention theme of “Building Dreams Together”, this original entertainment featured exciting, unique performers who have “dared to dream” of achieving great success.

Following months of researching extraordinary artists who have “Dared to Dream”, HGP brought 47 performers to Anaheim from around the globe for this original show. Each act was introduced by an HGP-produced video, narrated in English and subtitled in Chinese and Korean. The show culminated with all the performers gathered onstage for an inspiring finale whose impact was heightened by the audience waving votive candles (which we had branded with our client’s name to serve as a keepsake from the event).

Convention’s Closing Night Entertainment in the City by the Bay

Audience:

600 attendees at the Hilton Union Square

Concept:

Simulate a whirlwind “Night on the Town” with an original show featuring a wide range of San Francisco’s best talent

HGP conceived, designed and produced this original show to feature renowned Bay Area artists and ensembles including an illusionist, jazz band, vocalists, a comic, an award-winning pizzaiola and performers representing Chinatown, North Beach and Haight Ashbury. We reset the general session room with cabaret seating so the audience could enjoy cocktails and desserts while they were wowed by the talent presented for their exclusive enjoyment. The result: An enthusiastic standing ovation and comments like, “Awesome experience!” and “Even better than New York City entertainment!”

East Meets West at Cirque

Audience:

1,500 invitation-only guests from around the world

Challenge:

Combine 3,000-year-old Chinese acrobatic theater with contemporary American circus acts in an original show that contrasts East and West, old and new.

Our original storyline, conveyed theatrically to require no translation for the multi-lingual audience, started with two rival performing groups (Shanghai Acrobats and L.A.’s finest) competing for a theater space. With humor, diverse music styles (Grunge rock to traditional Chinese) and thrilling stunts, the two groups tried to out-do each other, building to a inspiring finale where East met West to showcase their best.

Project:

Sunrider International Original Gala Show

Audience:

3,500 distributors from 28 countries

Challenge:

Entertain and reward a diverse multi-cultural, multi-lingual audience

HGP has produced many of Sunrider International’s Grand Convention general sessions, awards and culminating original gala shows for a multi-cultural audience of thousands. One such Gala was “The Beatles Experience”, an extravaganza celebrating Beatles music in diverse performance styles from comic to ethereal, heartfelt to acrobatic, and romantic to rockin’ the house. We conceived this show with something for everyone, with no dialogue and a focus on the universal language of music. To spice things up, we used non-Beatles arrangements except for the final act in which an LED wall parted to reveal the Fab Four.  Audience reaction was off the charts with everyone dancing at their seats or in the aisles.

"This year’s Gala Show provided one of the most fun and entertaining evenings in Sunrider’s history, creating “wow” moments by the score. Acts from Cirque du Soleil, Dancing with the Stars, and Vegas headliners performed to Beatles music, culminating with a live performance from the premier Beatles tribute band! The audience was ecstatic, singing and dancing in their seats and aisles all night long."

Project:

Pacific Rim Forum Gala

Audience:

Political leaders and senior management of multi-national corporations from 20 Pacific Rim countries

Challenge:

To complement conference themes while appealing to a culturally diverse and sophisticated audience

HGP has been engaged by the Australian-based Pacific Rim Forum to produce original Gala Shows in Bali, Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong, San Diego, Shanghai and Sydney.  For each, the objective was to design a first-class entertainment created exclusively for the attendees. The first was “East Meets West on Broadway” with Broadway stars Lea Salonga (Tony Award winner for Miss Saigon) representing the East, and Steve Barton (Phantom of the Opera) representing the West, plus a large orchestra.  The concert featured Broadway songs that touch on East/West themes, from South Pacific to Miss Saigon and it was clear the material resonated with the audience who recognized themselves in the songs’ lyrics. Given the high level of sophistication of the audience, it was especially gratifying to receive a standing ovation.

"Thank you for another great Gala event! It was once again, the highlight of the week. Your team of onsite experts was terrific to work with. It is no small job to accomplish this type of event and your creativeness really complemented the theme of this year's Forum."

Executive Director, Pacific Rim Forum, Bali, Indonesia

Project:

Superstars in Concert

Audience:

2,000 distributors from 28 countries

Challenge:

Produce a spectacular show for diverse tastes and cultures

HGP specializes in entertainment for international audiences, which requires sensitivity to cultural differences, surmounting language barriers and presenting talent that appeals to diverse tastes. Our original “Superstars in Concert” checked all those boxes with a “star- studded” evening featuring some of the world’s best tribute performers.

“Celine Dion”, “Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons” and “Michael Jackson” wowed the crowd. Audiences went wild when “Elton John” and his blinged-out piano rose from below the stage and “Cher” sang a duet with the company’s founder (sporting “Sonny’s” distinctive hairstyle and mustache). Our corps of singer/dancers, impressive scenic and lighting design, and seamless transitions between acts sealed the deal – 2,000 guests leapt to their feet in appreciation.
