Project:

Annual Onstage Fundraiser for College Scholarships

Audience:

700 Convention Attendees in San Antonio

Challenge:

Each year, HGP is tasked with designing a fun, thematic and interactive onstage game to engage and incentivize attendees to raise scholarship funds.

In San Antonio, we created “Mining for Gold” which featured a custom-guilt mine where participants searched for faux gems that corresponded to high-value prizes. We enhanced the fun with mining costumes and gear for co-hosts and gamers, colorful widescreen graphics, and a “There’s Gold in Them Thar Hills” fast-cash game. The segment raised record-breaking scholarship monies and culminated in one lucky contributor winning a car. Past fundraising interactive sessions have included “Deal or No Deal” in SoCal, “Route 66” in Phoenix and “Raising the Stakes” in Las Vegas.

Project:

“The HUB”

Audience:

2,000 Convention Attendees in San Diego

Challenge:

Turn a ballroom into a branded, engaging environment to showcase our client’s products & services and ensure a positive guest experience.

Our design was inspired by Southern California fun in the sun. Attendees entered through a custom archway onto a “beach boardwalk” beyond which a Tiki bar offered guests samples from our client’s many beverage lines and a comfortable place to mingle. Dozens of colorful Expo booths and product displays were arranged in an inviting and open layout. Interactive areas featured makeup, jewelry, book signings, tastings and demonstrations. We were happy to hear “best Hub ever!” during and after the event.

Project:

“Welcome to Margaritaville” Closing Night Party

Audience:

1,000 Convention Attendees

Challenge:

Engage guests with a fun, interactive beach vibe at a poolside closing celebration in South Florida.

From a pool enhanced with our client’s logo, floating glowing orbs and a beautiful mermaid, to fun & games including duck races, a photo booth and limbo, to dancing to an awesome Jimmy Buffet tribute band, there was something for every age and taste. During set-up, instead of the downpour that threatened all afternoon, a glorious rainbow filled the sky.

Our client and the attendees raved, “Huge hit!!!! Absolutely the BEST closing celebration I’ve experienced in my 15 years with the company. Great job! Thanks again for everything!”

Project:

Mary Kay Leadership Party

Audience:

3,000 Consultants in two waves

Challenge:

Design and execute a highly interactive, customized and entertaining Beach Boardwalk themed party for top leaders.

What fun! We branded the entire party from a custom entryway and carnival game booths in Mary Kay colors, to mini-golf using client products, crafts projects, and pink Cadillacs made of sand and balloons. Entertainment included a surf band, pro skateboarders, and BMX bike stunt show integrating our client. Guests’ “take-aways” included the tangible – prizes, art projects and caricatures and the intangible – new friendships, great memories and a closer bond with Mary Kay.

"The Under the Boardwalk events you produced for us were a huge hit. You got rave reviews from everyone!"

Project:

“Red” and “Blue” Parties

Audience:

300 Sales Reps

For a sports industry client, we transformed “vanilla” ballrooms into “red” and “blue” branded fun and festive environments.  Keying off their brand color, we feature red suede lounge furniture and bars and red glowing tables.  Guests competed at pinball, ping pong, pool, and more. The following year, for the “blue” party, we evoked the look, feel and sounds of a favorite neighborhood blues bar with great food, drink, classic video games, giant foosball, darts, music and good friends.  A 30’ long mirror-backed glowing blue bar and a backdrop of hundreds of blue LED “stars” enhanced the mood.

Project:

Starwood Global Conference

Audience:

2,000 Starwood Hotel Managers

Challenge:

Conceive and execute a multi-sensory experience showcasing Starwood’s Asia Pacific expansion that would dazzle Starwood’s top managers who have “been there, done that”.

By transforming a large parking lot into an experiential Asian-Pacific paradise with unique and interactive environments, every guest was “transported” to five exotic locales. Using scenic pieces, indigenous plants, authentic décor, entertainment, cuisine and a live Indian elephant, we created a distinct character for each region that wowed the 2,000 guests.  The evening was capped by custom fireworks over the bay.

"A big thank you for making it all happen - your team did an outstanding job! Your know-how and experience made it possible to transform an empty parking lot into an Asian Pacific market street, and proved to be the hit of our World Conference dinner."
