HGP often produces video introductions for presenters and performers at our live events. Video is an effective tool to give the audience meaningful context while elevating their perception of the speaker or artist. The two we share here were created for a corporate client’s original gala show and for the Inamori Foundation’s annual Kyoto Prize Symposium.

Project:

TV or Not TV

HGP has produced many “mock” TV commercials for companies whose products and services are not usually advertised on television.  These humorous yet informative videos are shown at the companies’ major live events, allowing the audience to enjoy a simulated broadcast experience. Our most recent spots included a new twist on Eve’s encounter with the Snake in the Garden of Eden (2017 Telly Award Winner), a young boy selling wellness products door-to-door, and a nervous teenager meeting the father of his first date.

Title:

Road Trip!

Project:

Annual Convention Opening Video

To reinforce, with humor, our suggested convention theme “Get Your Motor Running” for our automotive industry client, HGP conceived, wrote and produced a comic “road trip” video opener featuring their top executives.  We followed their journey from piling into a small car at their Florida HQ, through driving across the country, to arriving at the Phoenix convention site.

Hilarity ensued at the green-screen studio shoot as we captured great footage of the four execs crammed into a real car for hours. They played their roles like Hollywood pros — and without a single diva demand!  In post-production, we added realistic and ridiculous “passing scenery,” then filmed and edited additional live footage on site in Phoenix. For the session opening, we seamlessly segued from the end of the video to the execs’ live entrance into the ballroom, with each of them still bearing some remnant of their road trip.

The Telly Awards has named two videos produced by HGP as 2016 Bronze winners in the “Motivational” category.  With over 13,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, HGP is honored to be recognized along with the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments.

“Rebuilding Together” Video

Audience:

1,000+ convention attendees in New York City plus online viewers

The Telly Awards named HGP as a winner in three categories for this video. “Rebuilding Together” documented the impressive efforts of Golden Corral Restaurant’s management and workers in Joplin, Missouri during and immediately following the massive tornado that struck in the spring of 2011. HGP’s award-winning team was once again led by Harris Goldman as Producer/Director/Writer and DP/Editor Jake Tison. We are honored to be the full-service production partner of Golden Corral, who for more than 40 years has gone above and beyond to support the individuals and communities they serve.

Midas International Training Video

HGP earned a Telly Award in the Training category for “The 10 Midas Way Absolutes”. With nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, we are honored to be recognized along with the best work of the most respected ad agencies, production companies, TV stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments.

HGP’s award-winning team was led by Producer Harris Goldman, Director David Brannen and Videographer/Editor Jake Tison with Midas Senior Communications Manager Michael Lewis.  To create greater viewer engagement, we based our creative approach on focusing on the customer’s point-of-view and adding humor.  The video proved so effective HGP was asked to create a French language version for Canadian franchisees.

Project:

Golden Corral “Making History” Video

Audience:

1,000+ convention attendees in Boston plus online viewers

The challenge here was to tie to the “Making History” theme without focusing on looking backward.  Our approach was to highlight Golden Corral’s commitment to continual improvement and innovation, using “historical” moments only in the context of creating an even brighter future. We ensured the project would be cost-effective by using a strategic combination of existing photos/video, engaging satellite video crews local to the desired shoots across the U.S., and convening key subjects at corporate headquarters in Raleigh so we could record them at the same time. The video received rave reviews from its initial live audience and later from online viewers.

“When You Wish” Highlights Video

Audience:

2,000+ convention attendees in Anaheim plus online viewers

HGP’s first opportunity to work with the creative and kind folks at Close To My Heart was to produce their 2011 Annual Convention highlights video.  We keyed off the event’s lyrical theme “When You Wish” to capture the artistry and camaraderie of 2,000 enthusiastic women convening at the Disneyland Hotel from across the U.S. and Canada.  Our own wish came true the following year when CTMH engaged HGP to produce their 2012 Convention in Dallas.
